This was our week for that, and it left us logistically, financially, and mentally taxed in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>But we got through it, and now our roof panels are finally up. It wasn&#8217;t easy, but we are thrilled that it is done, and we are no longer praying for no rain (and feeling panicked when, in fact, it does rain).<\/p>\n<p>The first step was to get the panels up to the roof.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/up_to_the_roof.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-727\" title=\"up_to_the_roof\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/up_to_the_roof-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A new kind of bobcat to help with that. (We ended up doing it this way instead of with a crane, which worked out great.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/new_bobcat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-726\" title=\"new_bobcat\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/new_bobcat-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then the panels had to be slid into place in their proper position&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sequence.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-728\" title=\"sequence\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sequence-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and foam cemented into place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/foam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-730\" title=\"foam\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/foam-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, it was a hot day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/r0010930.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-729\" title=\"r0010930\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/r0010930-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And then the clouds started rolling in&#8230;.along with looming thunder and lightning&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/clouds.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-731\" title=\"clouds\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/clouds-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, it all got done before the sky opened up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/done.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-732\" title=\"done\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kbtechworks.com\/kbranch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/done-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, Brad and I put up plastic sheeting to keep water out until we get the final roof up. Standing up on the roof with a large sheet of plastic with gale force winds blowing was an experience.
