Update

A wildfire started in Horseshoe Canyon yesterday around noon. The winds have been fierce and from the south. The fire started due west of us and headed north. We seem out of its way for now, but many of our friends and neighbors are in its path. More news as we get it.

Just got back from a meeting to give details on the fire.

    1) no structures have burned
    2) the winds are blowing it into last year’s burn (that’s good)
    3) they are very confident about fighting the fire in the grassland
    4) The winds are supposed to keep blowing to the north. (good for us and good in general it seems)

Despite crazy winds today the fire moved very little. Right now I see a fair amount of very thin smoke. Nothing near us.

Keep that wind blowing away from you! Our thoughts are with you all.

Big difference today. The winds have never stopped, but other than haze you wouldn’t know there is a fire out there.

Things seemed a lot worse last night. Very little wind today. Whew! The fire has moved south and we got see flames in Horseshoe canyon last night. Overall things are much improved; all the evacuations were lifted this morning.
