Last week, we had a hatch of baby horned lizards (aka horned toads). There must have been 15 or 20 of them all over the driveway.
When I was a kid in Texas, we children called them less formally, “horny toads.”
They call them that here too, but I’ve been informed that they are actually lizards not toads. I know you’ll appreciate that with your respect for precise language. :)
