Our sadly incompetent government

Written by karen on April 17th, 2009

If you ever have any doubts about how utterly bureacratic and dysfunctional our government, try moving a business out of state. I may spend the rest of my life trying to straighten this all out. My only consolation is that they will probably never be able to find me out here in the middle of nowhere to haul me off to debtor’s prison. Really, I haven’t done anything wrong, but no one seems able to help me. I am looking forward to the day when our mail stops forwarding.

I’m not surprised at all and I assume you aren’t either. By the way, I’m so glad you are keeping up this blog AND including pictures! I also assume you are thinking of what an interesting book this whole process would make!

We are exoeriencing incompetency in government beyond our wildest imagination. All we want to do is add on to an existing house on the Illinois River. But between FEMA and the City of Peoria, we have been stonewalled and delayed for almost a year now with no end in sight. We need to organize citizens against such incompetence. Do you know of any advocacy groups?
